I worry so much for our future generations if our children’s role models are people such as Miley Cyrus or Vanessa Hudgens. I don’t want to teach my little girl (when and if I ever have one) to look up to girls who don’t even promote self-respect. I don’t know what’s going on with The Disney Channel stars but whatever it is I definitely do not approve. Regardless of the girls’ ages they are on a channel targeting towards a very young demographic. Cyrus has posted many times on her MySpace in her underwear and with a shirt half way up her body. Its not like these photos were leaked, Cyrus cant be so oblivious as to think the paparazzi wouldn’t go on to her page and take the pictures. If my 15-year-old daughter did that she’d be on her way to a nunnery. Even worse is the blatant disregard for reputation by Hudgens. She took completely nude pictures and sent them to her boyfriend. Now, if you’re a celebrity you should know that on an easily hacked site you would indefinitely be a target. Needless to say 4Chan got a hold of them and posted them everywhere. I don’t think these girls should be promoted as role models; they are nothing more than spoiled brats who need a real dose of self R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

In my opinion the current music industry fails on playing wide varieties of music. In all honesty the radio overplays the same songs and there is nothing new. The songs are usually by the same artists that are hitting big in the MTV category. I don’t understand it. The only genres that they seem to broadcast are usually dance pop music or border line rap. And that’s good in some cases like that of Chris Brown and Paramore who constantly have newer songs that can be played randomly to make it seem as if its not all the same, but it gets old after a while. If they played a wider variety of genres I think they would be a lot better off. Bands like Brand New, Forever the Sickest Kids, As Cities Burn, Thrice, and others like that are never on the radio. I mean yeah, sometimes they play on satellite radio but for those of us with little money who can’t afford that we have to resort to buying cds and downloading things off of Limewire. I could be completely wrong in this assumption and some people may think the radio stations choice in songs are great. But I just think some of the time its just flat out ridiculous.

Last night was a busy night for MTV with performances by Little Wayne and Rihanna. But it was Britney spears’ night at the VMAs this year. She took home a total of 3 moon men with her latest single “piece of me.” I myself didn’t really enjoy the show this year. In all honesty I thought it seemed to staged and it was built up to be something that it wasn’t. I mean don’t get me wrong the overall thought of the VMAs is always exciting for the music world, but I just thought this show failed to meet the intensity level of previous shows. I myself still don’t really know who Russel Brand is so maybe that could be a key reason as to why I myself didn’t enjoy the show but that’s just my thought on that subject. I don’t know maybe its just the music world that’s getting so lame lately that the shows are just going down hill or maybe it was just a bad night, I cant really tell. Im just hoping things are different next year!

Pierce Brosnan’s film Married Life is the film that we’re beginning to despair will never actually hit the cinemas.
There’s a trailer. There are even clips on YouTube. Yet those of us who live in a major market - the New York City area - have seen neither hide nor hair of marketing for this long-awaited dark comedy.
It was slated for release in 2007, then bumped back to 2008. Why, we’re not sure. It doesn’t appear to be a big budget CGI piece, where you can understand continual delays in production. But this is Hollywood and there’s never any rhyme or reason.
At this rate we’d be better watching the whole thing in 2 minute clips on YouTube. Hey, if it works for South Park episodes…

When getting ready to board an airplane, there are some key things one must remember to bring and they are; clothes, shoes (all 50 pairs), the goop that goes on the face, a hairbrush, a toothbrush and oh yeah…COCAINE!
Mackenzie Phillips, 48 year-old TV star, just can’t seem to break the habit, but then again she was a child star. Thrust into the world of cameras, directors and false reality, how could she escape the disastrous product of youth and money, drugs?
Phillips was a well-known star during the world’s time of big hair and shoulder pads. She lived the life of any child whose face was seen by millions and whose money could get a hold of any desire, she turned to rebellion, finding whatever was missing in a bit of cocaine. Loosing her job, going to rehab, and having the whole world watching led Phillips back to the safety of a clean lifestyle. That was until just recently.
Boarding the plane at LAX, security made an unexpected discovery when a TSA officer checked Phillips bag. Cocaine and heroin where also found on her person. She was arrested on spot for suspicion of possession, as is customary.
Apparently she can’t escape her past, once an addict always and addict. But of course we wish her the best of luck in jail and in rehab. It just goes to show, drugs are timeless, you never seem to out grow them.

Will Wright’s SPORE known as the 1st “massive single-player online game” is hoping to bring a new age in life simulation games, but can it live up to the hype? This highly anticipated game for the PC has been in development since 2000 and release dates have been pushed back several times from Q4 [January-March] 08 to its new release date of early September of 08. The developer Maxis (creator of The Sims) has already released the Creature Creator to give fans a taste of what’s to come, having already tried the Creature Creator myself I must say I’m excited to see what the rest of the game has to offer, but the Creature Creator is only oneof the new features this game introduces. The teleological evolution genre better known as the “god game” genre is nothing new, however with spor you’re controlling evolution from a microorganism to an intelligent creature. Without a doubt the most revolutionary element of this game is its online aspect. Instead of playing head to head with other players your created creatures make the monsters in other peoples games. You can keep track of how many people have conquered your planet or killed off your race without it ever affecting your game. All of these features promise to make one hell of a game, but again can spore really live up to its publicity? There’s really no way to tell, right now all we can do is wait until September and hope for the best.
The contest is underway! Now you can enter your dog for a chance to win or just pop in to vote for the pups that catch your eye! The winners of each category will be revealed on Nick at Nite during a special televised event, The Worldwide Fido Awards.

Seth Rogen was a co-scripter with Evan Goldberg for Pineapple Express. The movie turned out to be really amazing, I’ll probably go see it again. Rogen was in a number of other movies, one being popular as well is Superbad. Although Pineapple Express was way better and held my attention the whole time while I never even made it through all of Superbad. In Pineapple Express Rogen played Dale Denton who is a process server that gets extremely high to ease the pain of having to hand out subpoenas.
When Denton runs low on his stash Saul (James Franco) comes into the picture. Saul is Denton’s kind hearted and dopey weed dealer who spends all of his time consuming and selling weed to his clients. After sharing an interesting cross joint with Saul and getting some of the exclusive and rare weed from which the title of the movie takes its name, Denton goes back to his job.
It’s very late when Denton arrives at his last serve for the day who ends up to be the drug lord that Saul gets his special Pineapple Express from. Denton witnesses a dirty woman cop and the drug lord kill a Chinese drug competitor. At that point Denton tosses a roach out the window and tries to leave the scene but crashes into two cars getting him noticed. The drug lord then runs outside with the cop and can instantly tell the weed left in the roach was Pineapple Express and sends his henchman after Saul and the drug lords middle man, Red.
The story progresses into a funny man love man stoner movie that most ages can enjoy. I really favored how the movie brought Denton, Red, and Saul together forming a cute and funny male bond. But I don’t suggest this movie for kids 15 and under. It is rated R for its sexual innuendos, drug use, and language. Although Pineapple Express was extremely funny and oddly easy to relate to. I would recommend seeing this movie in theater and buying it when it comes out on DVD.
